Wayne Frederick Gohl Sr., 88, of Yakima, Washington, passed away peacefully on July 17, 2022. Wayne was born June 7, 1934, in Yakima, Washington, to Fred and Lorena Gohl. Wayne was the oldest of five children. He was raised in Ahtanum, Washington.
Wayne graduated from Yakima High School in 1952, and then started his apprenticeship in Carpenter's Union within a couple of weeks. Most of his carpenter career was as a cabinet maker for United Builders, retiring in 1996. Wayne also farmed and raised cattle on his property in the Ahtanum area, along with about 100 acres of leased land, while working as a cabinet maker.
Wayne enjoyed outdoor activities, including hunting, fishing, and camping.
Wayne is survived by his three sons, Wayne Jr. (Debbie), Greg (Diane), and Brian (Kim); his seven grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren; his brothers, Gene (Karen) and Allan, and his sister, Darlene.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Frances, his sister, Joan Fluaitt, and three great-grandchildren.
A Viewing will be held on Thursday, July 28, 2022 from 10:00 am - 12:00 pm at Brookside Funeral Home (500 W. Prospect, Moxee, Washington 98936). A Graveside Service will be held on Friday July 29, 2022 at West Hills Memorial Park at 11:00 am with a Reception to follow at Wayne's residence.
